Dr. Martens boots are known for their distinctive appearance, comfortable fit and recognizable soles. When those soles wear out, the leather uppers may still have years of useful life. Resoling allows you to keep the boots you already enjoy wearing.
At High Street Shoe Repair, we remove the worn sole material, prepare the bottom of the boot and rebuild it with a suitable replacement outsole. We offer several Vibram and Goodyear options, from lightweight cushioned soles to heavier-duty lug patterns.
Our cobbler, George, has decades of experience repairing footwear. We have rebuilt thousands of shoes and boots, including Dr. Martens.
The replacement sole is not identical to the original Dr. Martens air-cushioned sole, but it can provide a comfortable, durable alternative with a tread pattern suited to your needs.

Not every Dr. Martens boot needs the same replacement sole. Some customers prefer lightweight cushioning, others want deeper tread for outdoor use, and some want a cleaner, dressier appearance.
We offer several Vibram and Goodyear sole options. The most suitable choice depends on your boot's construction, how you wear it and the appearance you prefer.

Can Dr. Martens boots be resoled?
Yes. Many Dr. Martens boots can be rebuilt with replacement outsoles. Repairability depends on the construction of the boot and the condition of the uppers and sole attachment area.
Will the replacement soles look and feel like the originals?
Our replacement soles are not identical to the original Dr. Martens air-cushioned soles. We offer several materials, tread patterns and profiles to suit different preferences for cushioning, grip and appearance.
Can I choose a different tread or a red sole?
Yes. We offer a selection of Vibram and Goodyear soles, including red soles when available. The appropriate choice depends on the boot and its intended use.
Can I mail my Dr. Martens for repair?
No. Our Dr. Martens repair and resoling service is available locally only. Please bring your boots to our Salem, Oregon shop. We cannot offer this service through the mail.
