COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT DANNER REPAIR
Below are some of the questions we hear most often from customers asking about Danner resoling and rebuilding.
Q: Do you use original Vibram soles?
A: We use original Vibram soles on our Danner repairs, including some of the same styles commonly found on Danner boots. The most common replacements we use are the Kletterlift, the Sierra, and the Montagna.
Q: Do you carry the Danner “Bob” sole?
A: Sorry, that is a proprietary Danner sole. We are not able to get that exact sole, but in some cases we can substitute something like the Vibram Kletterlift or the Vibram Sierra.
Q: What about the Sierra sole, and do you have the different colors?
A: The Vibram Sierra is somewhat similar to the Kletterlift, but a little thicker, with a different lug arrangement. If color is important for your repair, we are happy to discuss what options we have available.
Q: Does the adhesive ever separate during wet or snowy weather?
A: We repair shoes and boots for people who actually wear them in real weather. Here in western Oregon, wet conditions are part of everyday life for much of the year. If our adhesives did not hold up in rain and damp weather, we would not still be in business.
Q: My Danners are pretty worn down. Can they still be resoled?
A: Some can and some cannot. It depends on how the boots are built and how far they have worn. We are always happy to take a look and let you know honestly what we think.
Q: What about GTX, TFX, and similar styles?
A: Sorry, we no longer resole GTX, TFX, or similar styles. At this point, we only resole selected U.S.-made stitchdown-designed Danner boots, and only for local customers.
Q: Can I ship my Danner boots to you?
A: Sorry, we no longer offer Danner resoling through the mail. This service is local only.
Customer Feedback
“Sent a pair of Danner hiking boots in for new soles. They came back looking brand new, with the same type of sole that Danner uses. All in about a week. Never write reviews, but just wanted to say how impressed I was.”
— Eddie C., Richmond, California
“The work is excellent, the price was fair, and the turnaround was impressive. It is always great to find a repair shop that really knows boots.”
