PROFESSIONAL SHOE AND BOOT STRETCHING

Need your shoes stretched? You’ve come to the right place. We use professional steel shoe stretchers to custom-fit shoes and boots more comfortably.

We can focus the stretch on specific areas such as the big toe, little toe, bunions, bunionettes, and other tight spots that can make a shoe uncomfortable.

All of our stretches are guaranteed. You can try them out for a week or two, and if they still need a little more room, we will re-stretch them for you at no extra charge for up to a month.

COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT SHOE STRETCHING

Here are some of the most common things people ask us about stretching shoes and boots.

Q: Do shoes stay stretched?

A: Yes, in most cases they do. Stretching uses the same basic idea shoe factories use when shaping footwear in the first place. Once the material has been opened up properly, that improvement usually stays.

Q: How much can shoes be stretched?

A: Generally, if you can wear the shoes but they are uncomfortably tight, we can often make them better. If you cannot get your foot into the shoe at all, stretching may not be enough to solve the problem.

Q: Can you stretch specific problem areas instead of the whole shoe?

A: Yes. That is one of the main reasons people come to a shoe repair shop instead of trying to do it themselves. We can often target areas like bunions, little-toe pressure, toe-box tightness, or other spots that are rubbing.

Q: What materials stretch best?

A: Leather is usually the best material for stretching. Some other materials may give a little, but leather generally responds better and more predictably than synthetic uppers.

Q: Can boots be stretched too?

A: Yes. We stretch both shoes and boots. Depending on the style, we may be working on the forepart, the width, the toe area, or another pressure point.

Q: Is shoe stretching permanent if I do not wear the shoes for a while?

A: In most cases, yes. A properly stretched shoe should still fit better even if it sits for a season.

Q: Can every shoe be stretched?

A: No. Some shoes respond much better than others, and some materials have very limited give. If a shoe is too small overall or made from a material that does not respond well, stretching may only help a little.
